HAMBURG READING BREAKFAST – Katrin Seddig reads from *Thoughts on Gyms*

Katrin Seddig is reading at the breakfast reading event, and suddenly everything takes on new meaning: How do trees actually die? Why might concrete flowerpots and fish ponds, of all things, be indispensable? And what exactly is the deal with disco-club hairspray?

In her essays, Seddig takes the world at face value—attentively, stubbornly, and without any hierarchy. Love comes up, of course. But so do rabbits and gyms. And can a snail be happy or unhappy? Questions like these seem funny at first, then surprisingly wise, because Seddig’s unpretentious, curious language leads us precisely to the places where everyday life would otherwise simply slip by.

A morning filled with mental digressions, subtle humor, and that special joy in thinking that doesn’t lecture but is contagious.
