Tabea Steiner, born 1981, studied German language and literature and ancient history. She grew up on a farm in eastern Switzerland and now lives in Zurich. Her texts report on the difficulty of the simple in carefully composed, high-resolution linguistic images. In harsh realities and small-scale worlds, the features of the interpersonal, as coarse as they are delicate, are revealed. It is often the inconspicuous gestures that are observed – as if under a magnifying glass.<\/p>\n
The author spent the summer of 2014 as an artist in residence in Genoa and the summer of 2019 as a fellow at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. Her first novel “Balg” was published in 2019 by Edition B\u00fccherlese and was shortlisted for the Swiss Book Prize.<\/p>\n
Together in teams, Tabea Steiner also curates the Thun Literature Festival as well as the Bernese reading festival Aprillen and is currently a member of the jury for the Swiss Literature Awards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
